Spiegelworld - Miami Happenings
A traveling circus of sorts whose producers promise old world entertainment with the intimacy of cabaret, the provocativeness of burlesque and the spectacle of acrobatics is becoming one of the most important Miami happenings this season. You can think Cirque du Soleil in a smaller scale with more risqué material. Sprinkle in a late-night variety show with obnoxious host, a touring comedy troupe of self-described Jewish Princesses, Djs spinning sets for dancers, a concert series of Cuban music, and tent-side garden roaming performers. Spiegelworld is a touring cultural festival that offers a variety of shows inspired by everything. The shows include Absinthe, The Gazilionaire’s Lat Night Lounge, and The Green Fairy. The must-see show will be The Gazilionaire’s Lat Night Lounge, a cross between British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s fictional character, Borat, and ABC late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Miami Florida is likely to become an annual stop for Spiegelworld in December, in order to close the famous Florida Festival, Art Basel Miami. Spiegelworld a traveling cultural venue will be giving nightly performances at Collins Park between 21st and 22nd Streets, just east of Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, through February 17th, 2008.
